The box is formed from overlapping layers of papier-mâché, molded and pressed around a form. After slow drying, the structure is finished and assembled.

The structure is impregnated with linseed oil and baked to consolidate its stability and durability. This is followed by painstaking sanding and the application of a primer.

With lacquering, the inside is coated in red and the outside in deep black. On the smoothed surface, the miniaturist traces an initial composition, defining balance and rhythm before the color takes shape.

The painting is completed using thin glazes of egg tempera, enriched with gold details and decorations. The process concludes with final layers of clear lacquer, dried and polished by hand, which seal the miniature in its mirror-like brilliance.
