AUTHOR'S WORK
LACQUERED BOX

In this tiny box, the Leshyan ancient spirit of the forest —emerges from the darkness like a silent, arcane presence. His figure envelops the scene in a magnetic aura, suspended between protection and mystery. The intimate dimensions of the work heighten its allure: each element, so delicate it seems whispered, amplifies the magic of the moment. Here, detail is not mere virtuosity, but elevation: the more minute the touch, the more the work acquires intensity and significance. It is a secret encounter with the forest, preserved in just a few centimeters of pure visual poetry.

THE PAINTING

The scene depicts the Leshy , a sylvan spirit of Slavic tradition, an ambiguous and changeable presence that embodies the soul of the forest. The figure emerges from the black background: tall, bearded, almost fused with the trees surrounding her, she seems to belong more to the forest than to the human world. In the foreground, the young woman—wrapped in a dress of warm, luminous tones—introduces a strong chromatic and symbolic contrast. Her leaning posture and the soft movement of her dress create a diagonal line that interrupts the imposing verticality of the Leshy . The dialogue between the two figures is not conflictual but suspended, full of narrative ambiguity: attraction and danger, protection and deception coexist in the same image. The slender, stylized trees act as theatrical wings, framing the encounter and amplifying the fairytale dimension. The lacquered black background enhances the depth and intensifies the contrast between the cold, earthy hues of the Leshy and the warm reds of the dress. The discreet yet precise gilding intervenes in the details and the frame, punctuating the surface without interrupting the nocturnal atmosphere. The work thus translates the legend into a vision suspended between mystery and poetry, where the forest is not a simple landscape, but a living, breathing entity.
