THE PAINTING

The scene unfolds like a small natural theater, constructed horizontally according to a broad and expansive narrative structure, articulated in successive planes that lead the gaze from the aquatic foreground to the architectural backdrop. At the center, the protagonist is captured in a measured, almost suspended gesture, whileSivka-Burka appears before him: an extraordinary yet benevolent presence, a symbolic bridge between the human world and the enchanted dimension of fairy tales. Around him, the secondary figures observe, participate in the story, and balance the scene, creating a balanced visual rhythm; while trees, streams, and fairy-tale buildings define a coherent yet suspended space, far from ordinary time. The painting style, typical of the Kholui School , is distinguished by a soft and fluid application. The colors, full yet velvety, blend in delicate tonal transitions that attenuate contrasts and envelop the scene in a contemplative atmosphere. The green and turquoise fields interact with the reds and ochres of the garments, creating a harmonious chromatic balance. The light and measured gilding intervenes in the ornamental details and profiles, guiding the gaze without imposing hierarchies: the narrative thus transforms into an intimate and profoundly human vision.
